The Turkish Association for the History of Religions, which was founded in Ankara in 1993 under the leadership of the honorary president Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Küçük,
has been in an effort to realize the goals such as to organize symposiums, conferences, seminars, to publish books, and to ensure unity, and solidarity among the Turkish academics in the
field of History of Religions. In order to contribute to the recognition of Turkish academics abroad and the representation of their activities and works on international platforms,
the association has its international stakeholders, the European Association for the Study of Religions (EASR) and the International Association for the History of Religions (IAHR).
The 1st Congress of the History of Religions in Türkiye will be held on the occasion of the “100th Anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye” and the “30th Anniversary of the Turkish Association for the History of
Religions”. With this congress, it is aimed to bring together the academics who contribute to the History of Religions from Türkiye and abroad, to create opportunity for the sharing of opinions, knowledge and academic information, to evaluate the point where the History of Religions studies have come in the 100th anniversary of the Türkiye. In addition, the congress will enable academic collaborations of Turkish and foreign academics.
The congress is planned to be held at regular intervals in the coming years.
In this context, the First Congress of the History of Religions in Türkiye will be held in Ankara between 29-30 September 2023, hosted by the Turkish Association for the History of Religions, in cooperation with Ankara University and Ankara Social Sciences University.
Ankara University, Ankara Social Sciences University and the Presidency of Religious Affairs will take their places in our Congress as our stakeholders.
